15 Jun Marta Giardini, Designer of Perpetua the Pencil, receives honorary mention for ADI Compasso d’Oro Award 2016
A prestigious mention for the Milanese designer who created the only entirely made in Italy pencil, having unique features and a vibrant and versatile personality.
From Turin, to Vicenza – birthplace of Perpetua, to Paris, Frankfurt, London, New York, collecting awards, recognitions, supporters and lovers, Perpetua the pencil arrives today in Milan to be the protagonist of “ADI Compasso d’Oro Award”: the prize of excellence, which rewards not only beauty but also research, functional design and creativity for a better future.
Perpetua is a “communicating object” created by sharing the values and skills of a group of professionals who poured into the pencil elements of originality making it special and unique.
The ADI Compasso d’Oro Award is promoted by the ADI Foundation in partnership with ADI the Italian Association for Industrial Design. The Award is presented to items that feature an advanced, culturally aware and ethically responsible approach towards designing for the individual, society and the environment, such as to provide a driver for new material and non-material qualities.
After the awards ceremony on the 14th of June, Perpetua and the other objects of the ADI Compasso d’Oro Award will be showcased in an exhibition at Palazzo Isimbardi (via Vivaio 1, Milan; from June 15th to 22nd, Monday to Friday, 9am-6pm. Closed Saturday and Sunday).
