What is MUŻA?
MUZA is the name chosen for the new art museum in Malta, a project that aspires to the nomination of La Valletta as European Capital of Culture 2018. The acronym, that stands for Muzew Nazzjonali Tal- Arti (National Museum of Fine Arts), is also about inspiration and the muse from classical antiquity because, like Perpetua, the aim of this museum is to inspire
The MUŻA is a one-of-a-kind revolutionary museum because:
- It represents a new concept of museum that aims at overturning the traditional vertical administration of museums’ content, in favor of a common approach with the community.
- It wants to represent an example of sustainability, since it is able to provide for itself from the energy point of view, with an environmental footprint almost non-existent.
